This is a brand 70mm 2 3/4" diameter crystal globel. This globe is made of fused quartz, it's perfectly round and perfectly clear with no inclusions, with map of the earth etched on it. This globe is perfect as a conversation piece in any home.
Quartz composes about 80% of any rock. By itself quarts is very clear, but with impurities it becomes a regular rock. This process grinds up the rock, melts it and extracts only the pure quartz. Quartz is then formed into shape by machine under high pressure, so all air bubbles are taken out. Since the globe is machine made, it is perfectly round and clear with no inclusions.
